There a total of five skills the player should develop. They are namely attack, defense, health, energy, and stamina. Having a high attack increases your chances of winning, because your attacks will be more powerful. A higher defense allows you to repel enemy attacks. Having more health allows you to survive longer in fights. More energy allows you to do more jobs quickly and thus level up easily, and more stamina allows you to do more attacks without tiring up.
An important aspect is of Mafia Wars is to build up your crew, so that your back will be covered in an intense fight. You can invite friends from social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook, and MySpace. Request them to join you with a nice personal message with your recruitment link so that they wouldn't delete it as spam.
